Walking with a club helps you gain experience, find new places to walk, creates safety in numbers should something occur on the walk and improves your knowledge of Mother Nature and all she has to offer. 

Whether you call it bushwalking, hiking, tramping, hill walking, rambling or trekking they are all terms for recreational walking in bushland or natural areas.

We come under the umbrella of Bushwalking Queensland Inc. (BWQ) which is the peak body representing the interests of affiliated bushwalking clubs in the State of Queensland, Australia. Bushwalking Queensland Inc. offers accident and liability insurance cover for affiliated clubs through the national scheme administered by Bushwalking Australia Inc. (BA). This means Membership through our club offers better protection for you than walking on your own or in some kind of Meet Up group. BWQ organises on our behalf the insurance policy we walk under and represents our interests through advocacy with land managers and various government departments. Some landowners insist on seeing our liability insurance before they grant access to walk on their property.
