Joining or Renewing Your Membership

1. How to join

First Step: Become an associate member

Associate membership and insurance cover is available for anyone over 18 who would like to “try us out”. Associate membership costs $30.00 and is valid for three walks, after which you qualify for ordinary membership of the club. You must be a financial member and sign the risk form prior to participating in any club event. If you join from September to March, your membership expires on 31 August of the current period. If you join from April to August, your membership expires on 31 August of the following year. When your membership expires, you can renew it by paying the membership fee and completing the appropriate risk form, which must be lodged annually (September–August).

To become an associate member you need to:

• Register Online here
• Fill out and sign the Acknowledgement of Risk Form for Associate Members then scan / photograph and email the completed form to members@bushies.org.au. Please ensure there is one form per person.
• Pay the $30.00 membership fee either by credit / debit card, or by electronic transfer / deposit into the club's bank account, or at a club night by cash.

• The club's incorporation rules state that all 3 above actions must be completed before your membership is activated.

Once these 3 actions are completed, you will:

• Receive instructions on how to get membership access to the Member Jungle website and app from the New Members Officer: contact members@bushies.org.au. Once your account has been activated, you will be able to set your password and login by entering your Username and Password.
• Be encouraged to download the Member Jungle app for easy access.
• Be able to manage your account AND register to participate in club events.

Second Step: Become a full/ordinary member of the club

You are eligible to become an ordinary member of the club when:

• You complete three club walks and remain financial.
• Your ordinary membership is approved by the club's committee.
• You sign the Acknowledgement of Risk Form for Ordinary Members. Scan and email the form to treasurer@bushies.org.au or complete the form and hand it in at a club night.

2. How to renew your membership

Ordinary members pay an annual fee of $30.00 due by 31 August to remain financial. Please note, you will lose your login access if your membership is allowed to lapse.

A former member who would like to re-activate their membership MUST DO SO WITHIN 3 YEARS OF EXPIRY. After 3 years, a former member must rejoin as an associate member.

It is a requirement of the club's incorporation rules that all members must sign the Acknowledgement of Risk Form for Ordinary Members every year at the time of renewal. Please hand the completed form to the Treasurer at a club night or scan / photograph and email the completed form to treasurer@bushies.org.au.

Renew your membership online using your membership account. You can pay by credit / debit card, by bank electronic transfer / deposit, or by cash at a club night.
